The Arctic region
The Arctic region, characterized by its vast ice-covered ocean and surrounding territories, has emerged as a critical arena for geopolitical competition.
As climate change accelerates the melting of polar ice, new opportunities for resource extraction, shipping routes, and strategic military positioning have arisen, drawing the attention of global powers.
The Trump administration seeks to assert its influence in the Arctic, in an attempt to counter the growing presence of other powers, particularly China and Russia, emphasizing the region’s strategic importance.
The BBCS has the great pleasure to invite you for an exclusive event with journalist Peter Ernstved Rasmussen and Luxembourg consultant and former diplomat Gaston Stronck who will explore the strategic significance of the Arctic, discuss current geopolitical challenges, and envision future opportunities in this rapidly evolving region.
